The Sea Ranch is a private community that extends for more than ten miles along the Northern California coastline. The more than 3500 acres range from ocean bluffs and beaches to open grassy meadowlands, hillsides with dramatic ocean views, to forests of Redwoods soaring to the sky.

The Sea Ranch is internationally known and respected as one of the best examples of enlightened, environmentally sensitive land use. More than one-half of the land is permanently dedicated, commonly owned open space. Since 1965, The Sea Ranch has provided a haven for those seeking a quiet, relaxing but active, private retreat from the stresses of urban living.

You may enjoy seclusion or a variety of activities. There are more than 75 miles of private hiking trails, and more than 40 miles of private roads for bicycling, heated outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, saunas, fishing, miles of coastline for tidepool exploration, and the challenging, championship, Sea Ranch Golf Links, just to mention some.

A design committee insures that all homes constructed blend into the natural landscape and have a minimum impact on the surrounding environment. Building sites range in size from one quarter acre up to three acres. Most sites are one-half acre in size and border on large, open common areas. Underground utilities to each site include water, electricity, telephone, and cable television. Some of the sites require individual septic systems while other areas of The Sea Ranch are serviced by a central sewer system.

The Sea Ranch Association monthly assessment for 2007-2008 is $163.00 monthly. This covers all of the costs of the Association's operations which includes maintenance and operation of: private roads, recreation centers, hiking trails, Activities Center, Association offices, security patrol, administration, taxes, insurance, Sea Ranch's private 2600 foot landing strip, and other related costs. Additional fees are required for boarding horses at the stable as well as green fees at the GOLF LINKS.
